We follow the 'Eat Better, Start Better' programme to ensure we offer a nutritious healthy balanced diet to all children.
Meal times are a sociable experience for children to enjoy together. Whether your child can feed themselves or needs a helping hand, staff will always be there to offer encouragement and support. Our older children are encouraged to self-serve which helps to build independence and promote readiness for school skills. Staff also eat alongside the children to encourage them to try new tastes and demonstrate how to use cutlery.
If your child is not onto solids yet we ask that you provide breast milk or infant formula, which we will store and make up as and when your baby needs it. When your child is ready for the weaning process to begin staff are on hand to offer advice and support.
Our nursery chef cooks and prepares all meals onsite from scratch using fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers. Menus are rotated on a 3 week basis providing a variety of tasty meals for children to enjoy. We cater for all allergies and special diet requirements, details of these are recorded during your first paperwork session at nursery.
We serve breakfast from 7:30am up until around 8:15am. We have a range of cereals on offer and encourage your child to choose their own.
Lunch time takes place at 11:30am.
We serve a high tea at 4pm. This is something light to see your child through the rest of their nursery day and is not intended to replace an evening meal.
A light snack is provided at 10am and 2:30pm with children being encouraged to help prepare it alongside staff. Water is available and accessible to all children throughout the day and milk is offered in both morning and afternoon sessions either as a drink with a snack or at tea.
